What data we use
FoodBites is a price-comparison service for consumers. To compare the cost of an order across nearby restaurants we need a small amount of menu information — and only that. We are deliberately strict about what we collect.
What we use — public data only
- Menu item names (e.g. “10 Pc Traditional Wings”)
- Menu categories (e.g. Wings, Burgers, Sides)
- Prices as publicly listed
- Public address / location, for distance search
What we never use
- Logos, branding, fonts, or themes
- Photography or other creative assets
- Internal systems, sales, or customer data
- Any proprietary or confidential information
Where the data comes from
Menu information is sourced from publicly accessible places such as a restaurant's own website. We record the source and the date it was last verified, and we show both alongside every price so diners know how fresh it is.
