What data we use
FoodBites is a price-comparison service for consumers. To compare the cost, we only scrape 2 things - menu item name and price. We exclude propreitary dishes and only pick the common menu items.
What we use — public data only
- Menu item name (e.g. “10 Pc Traditional Wings”)
- Prices as publicly listed
- Restaurant public address / location, for distance search - from Google
What we never use
- Logos, branding, fonts, or themes
- Photography or other creative assets
- Internal systems, sales, or customer data
- Any proprietary or confidential information
Where the data comes from
Menu information is sourced from the restaurant&pos;s public website. We strictly do not use the web portal from delivery apps.
How did my restaurant's menu get listed here?
To help local diners, our team compiles basic menu information (item names and prices) from publicly available sources. We honor bot scraping policies.
What kind of menu items do you list?
We only list generic dish names — such as, “chicken wings” or “egg salad” — so diners can compare the same dish across restaurants. We do not list proprietary, branded, or trademarked item names (for example “Smith's Egg Salad”). If a branded name ever appears on your listing, let us know and we'll remove or genericize it.
Can I claim, update, or correct my restaurant's profile?
Yes, absolutely! Because we operate like a search directory, restaurant owners are encouraged to take control of their listing. You can claim your profile to update pricing, correct menu items, or add direct ordering links so customers buy straight from you.
Can I request to remove my restaurant from FoodBites?
Yes. While FoodBites is designed to drive visibility and traffic directly to local eateries, we respect the preferences of every business owner. If you would like your restaurant removed from our platform, simply email our support team at [email protected], and we will promptly take down your listing within 24–48 hours.
Is there any cost to be listed or claim my profile?
No, basic listings, claiming your profile, and opting out are entirely free.
